The Stylyx story - Solving a century old problem

Australian leisure-goods designer, Peter Clutton, thought he had solved the century-old problem of "bicycle seat-soreness" when, after years of research and testing many new seat designs, he produced the uniquely-styled Stylyx bikeseat. He now readily admits he made the same mistake that many designers before him made when thinking just a new seat shape would solve the problem.

When the Stylyx bikeseat was released for sale, many people thought it was a vast improvement on past bike seats, but overall user-feedback taught Clutton he had only done part of the job, as he discovered there wasn't a bike in the world that could correctly position each rider to gain full benefit from the seat's anatomically-correct shape.

It was "back to the drawing board" for Clutton for a few more years, with numerous engineering phases being completed before he produced a complete bicycle with new frame geometry and a patented "personal positioning system" within the bike's seat-tube/seatpost mechanism.

The combination of the frame geometry and the fine-tuned positioning allowed every rider to gain exactly the right position for his or her physique and make full use of the seat's supporting shape. This produced the first bicycle in history to have been designed from the seat first, establishing a new era in bicycle design, where the seat, frame and rider-positioning are totally integrated from the outset, rather than having the selection of a seat being almost an afterthought.

The years taken to reach this result were put to good use in continually refining and adding to the overall bike design, with the final design not only solving the seat-soreness problem and removing back and neck strain, but making pedaling easier with less effort, through use of an energy-efficient pedaling position and "pull-back" leverage from the handlebars.

Upon gaining some positive publicity for this new "total bike" design, Clutton was flattered to be approached by a number of the world's major bicycle companies, who were interested in selling this new bike design under their brands. He had to forego this option as they all wanted to put the new bike in with many other models they were selling, which would identify it as "just another model" and not the breakthrough in design that it truly is.

The first model of bike has now grown into a complete range of cycling and fitness products to be released progressively in global markets through Stylyx subsidiaries and marketing partnerships. In the USA, Clutton's search for the right USA marketing partner concluded when he went looking for an answer to a packaging problem and met up with former "Survivor" cast member, Joel Klug.

With a history of working in the health & fitness industry and packaging solutions, Joel Klug was exposed to a large variety of new products, as most of his clients were people seeking packaging solutions for their latest creations, but none gained his interest more than the Stylyx bicycle."I have seen literally hundreds of products over the past few years, both in the packaging industry and the Health Club market" he says, "All of them claim to be original or ground breaking and many of the product-owners invited me to get involved with their products, but I have never seen a product before that really provides everything it promises. The Stylyx bicycle is truly revolutionary and flies in the face of a bike industry that has not listened to what the everyday bike rider is looking for comfort, healthy support and easier pedaling. Its hard to understand why solving the seat-soreness problem and making bicycles really comfortable was never approached like this before".

Klug's belief in the product and the contribution it will make towards people living healthier, more active lifestyles has seen him buy into the company and become CEO of Stylyx USA, with he and Clutton teaming up to let people know they should no longer refrain from bike riding because of seat soreness or back strain & just get out there and enjoy the fun of riding a bicycle again.
